FAQs About Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy applies extreme cold to skin lesions using nitrous oxide gas, safely removing unwanted skin growths and imperfections.
Dermapen™ Cryotherapy uses an ultra-cold mist of nitrous oxide gas (-89°C) delivered with precision to treat skin lesions such as warts and skin tags. The mist freezes the affected tissue without direct contact, promoting quicker healing and more comfort compared to traditional methods.
There may be a brief cold sensation, especially for larger lesions. Small lesions are treated quickly and comfortably. Afterward, the area may be red and mildly blistered as part of the healing process.
Minimal downtime; redness or swelling may occur, but it resolves in a few days.
Minor scabbing or darkening of the lesion is normal and resolves within 1-2 weeks. Doctor approval is required for suspicious moles.
Most lesions require one session. Follow-up treatments may be needed in 2-3 weeks for some lesions. Results appear 1-2 weeks after treatment.
Avoid excessive heat, sweating, and makeup for 24 hours after treatment.
Cryotherapy is not recommended for those with uncontrolled diabetes, open wounds, immune disorders, cold sores, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

More information

At Skóra | Skin, our expertly curated Chemical Peel treatments offer a powerful way to refresh and renew your skin—addressing a wide range of concerns across both the face and body. Whether you’re looking to reduce pigmentation, smooth fine lines, clear breakouts or simply revitalise a tired complexion, our treatments can be customised to suit your skin’s unique needs.

We offer a variety of peel strengths, from superficial to medium-depth, all performed by skilled therapists using high-quality active ingredients. Our formulations include Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) such as Glycolic, Lactic and Mandelic acid, Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) like Salicylic acid, as well as Retinoids (Vitamin A), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and natural enzymes—each selected for its ability to improve skin texture, tone, and overall health.

Chemical Peels work by encouraging cell turnover, helping to exfoliate the surface, stimulate new skin growth, and promote a more even, luminous complexion. They can be especially effective in treating acne, sun damage, scarring, dullness, and signs of ageing.

For enhanced results, your peel may be paired with other advanced skin treatments offered at our Melbourne clinic, such as Skin Needling, Laser Therapy, Microdermabrasion or Photo Rejuvenation—creating a personalised plan designed to get the most out of your skin.
